Kindness shines

Makaylah Horstman is a junior who is known for her motherly personality and warm-hearted nature that is shown to everyone who gets a chance to meet her, although she has had her hardships and stress she always seems to be able to look on the bright side and keep a positive attitude.

According to her friends and teacher, Makaylah’s personality is shown to be kind and caring by nature Frau Kramer has said, “I think Makaylah is caring, intelligent, silly (with her friends), and attentive.”

Her teachers have held her to her kind and caring personality as her friends hold her to more of a personal standpoint.

Her friends hold her to very nice and kind standpoints Junior Reese Scott has said

“I think she’s the nicest, most inviting, and warm-hearted person ever. She’s always there for you when you need a helping hand and I don’t know what my life would be like without her.”

As Makaylah’s personality is one of her amazing qualities the way she can overcome problems, and stress is quite an amazing quality she possesses. Makaylah said her secret that helped her to deal with stress is,

“Dealing with stress, I usually have a dance party or go outside,” Makaylah said. “My AP classes are pretty chill, but when they are stressful  remind myself of deadlines and fix it if I mess anything up.”

Makaylah has her own goals such as,

“Um, my goals for next year is to just make it out of senior year alive, get college credits to get my psychology degree as quickly as possible.” She said, although Her peers could see her doing multiple things.

“I’m not sure what I see Makaylah doing in ten years, but I am certain she will be successful.” said Frau Kramer, “She, in the short 9-10 weeks I’ve known her. Seems like an individual that will work hard to achieve any goal she sets for herself. I could see her doing anything!”

Even though many people see Makaylah as being very successful and handling more of a mainstream life, Makaylah aspires for a different life than people have pictured for her.

“I don’t think many people know I live and prefer more of a simple life rather than mainstream, like the South! I like how slow life is there. I like that.” She said,

Makaylah pictures herself doing a lot in the next few years

“In a couple of years, I see myself in The midwest on a ranch with some animals while I eventually get my college degree.”

Makaylah also seems to aspire to live on her own for a while

“Get my own apartment, and live on my own and travel!.” Makaylah said, “Especially to Germany; hopefully, I’ll speak fluent German by then.”

From Makaylah’s standpoint, she has said

“ I’m very pleased and honored that you picked me to interview and that I have such kind and supportive people in my life.”
