Pasta. What a wonderful carbohydrate. With its infinite possibilities ranging from red sauce, alfredo, cheese, and even simply just butter, it’s a blessing to all. If you’ve never eaten some cold penne straight from the fridge at midnight, are you even living? (I hope this is a universal experience or else I’m going to sound very strange, but I write a blog about my food opinions so I suppose that’s weird enough in itself.)

While pasta might seem like a generally unproblematic food (which it is), some people still manage to create this strange controversy. Allegedly, people don’t like the flavor of pasta, and they only eat it because they like the flavor of the butter or sauce on it. Now let me tell you, when I first heard about this conspiracy, I was dumbfounded. This is the biggest load of bahooey I’ve ever heard. Of course people like the flavor of what’s on it, they wouldn’t put it on if they didn’t. That’s literally the equivalent of not seasoning your food. Clearly nobody is going to be too ecstatic over unseasoned chicken, but it doesn’t mean chicken isn’t good. Whoever came up with this conjecture needs to think a little more deeply about their arguments before they try to deceive my pasta loving friends and I. Let us all enjoy pasta for what it is, and what can help it reach its full potential. Until next time, pasta la vista!
