The beginning of the year hype is over, you’ve seen all your friends, and now you’re stuck in the same boring routine yet again. Whether you’re sitting in algebra going over your tenth problem that you just don’t understand, reading yet another book you hate for English class, or walking through the make out corner we all know there’s something you’d much rather be doing. Here are a few things I, and the rest of the Knight Times Staff would rather be doing.
- Going to a Haunted House
- Performing at a football game
- Singing ditties with the Marching band
- Hanging out with friends
- Practicing for Knochettes
- Dancing
- Going for a hike – My favorite places to hike are Cook Forest, the Butler-Freeport Trail, and Moraine State Park
- Going for a drive
- Going to a fall festival – “My family and I love going to fall festivals! One of the best ones is at Soergel Orchards!” (see number 24). ~Maddie Guthrie
- Drinking coffee at the Saxonburg Coffee Shop – My favorite drink is a hot Caramel Bliss.
- Taking a nap
- Taking pictures
- Shopping
- Looking at fashion on Pinterest
- Watching YouTube
- Having a bonfire
- Camping at Cook Forest
- Petting my cats “Cats make me sneeze! Pet a dog. You can also take a dog on a hike. (see number 7)” ~ Ms. Thompson
- Hiking waterfalls in the Finger Lakes, New York
- Listening to Taylor Swift
- Going to a concert – Some of my favorite concerts are Taylor Swift and the Vans Warped Tour.
- Doing yoga
- Decorating my room
- Going to a pumpkin patch. Try Soergel’s Orchards in Wexford, they have a great selection of different things to do throughout the fall.
- Making pumpkin pie
- Eating candy corn
- Making homemade pizza
- Baking – Some of my favorite things to bake are anything pumpkin, cupcakes, and chocolate chip cookies.
- Reading
- Writing in a journal, or if writing isn’t your thing try an adult coloring book. They’re really relaxing. “I’ve kept a journal since I was nine! I’ve gone through s

- Go for a picnic
- Hanging out with my family
- Burning a fall candle
- Doing my makeup

- Visiting animals
- Riding horses
- Going to an amusement park. Kennywood will stay open for Phantom Fright Nights through October 28th.

- Boating
- Tubing
- Going to the movies – Some of the best movies I’ve seen recently are Wonder Woman, Spider-Man, and Hidden Figures.
- Scrolling through Instagram
- Eating
- Laying on the beach
- Traveling
