Kicking it with Senior Lexi Frye
Senior Lexi Frye is probably one of the best dancers you know, but did you know she’s been dancing since she was three.
Frye likes to expresses her feelings when she dances, but what made her get into dance?
“My mom put me into creative movement when I was three, which made me get into dance now,” said Frye.
Since she has been dancing for a long time she joined Knochettes.
“I saw flyers about it on the wall so I decided to try out for it,” Frye said.
For the three years Frye has been on Knochettes, she was captain of the group for two.
“The first time I thought it would be a good opportunity to be a leader for the team and grow as a dancer and a person,” Frye said. “After Makayla and I were captain that year, everything went smoothly and we wanted to try out again for another year.”
Dance has been a big role in her life which made her try out for the dance program at Slippery Rock University.
“I have been accepted to Slippery Rock University,” Said Frye. “I’m auditioning to be in their dance program.”
Glad to say Frye has already tried out and made the program. Her friends had a great feeling that she was going to make the program.
“I am very confident that she will make it,” Makayla Heinle said. “She is so naturally talented but still a hard worker and generally, she just deserves it.”
“Heck yeah! She is the best dancer I know. She has been dancing since she was little so she will nail it,” Said Anna- Marie Wise.
Outside of school and dancing, Frye has other interest.
“Watching Netflix and sleeping,” said Frye “Petting my dogs are my favorite interest.”
Who can argue that dogs are not fun to pet? Frye has two of her own dogs.
“Lexi favorites are her two dogs, Crosby and Malkin,” Heinle said. “Well she loves them so much.”
Frye does have her favorite things like the rest of us.
“Lexi does have some things she loves. She loves chicken nuggets and dogs,” said Wise.
For Frye’s whole life she always had her older brother, Nick, to look up to.
“Nick had shown me a lot in life,” said Frye. “He has shown me the way throughout school and life in general.”
As Frye is going to go to school for teaching, she is still going to help out with her family business, Frye Pest Management.
“I’ve been helping my dad for a few years now on go on jobs and paperwork and such,” said Frye. “My brothers are planning on taking over the business eventually so I might help with that.”
