Art Work #3

English Teacher Mrs. West had a tile painted last year after an eager student (senior Mackenzie Mead) asked to paint one.
“Mackenzie noticed that I didn’t have any tiles painted in my room and asked if I would want her to design and create one”, said Mrs. West.
The tile was placed in the room at the end of last school year. It is themed off of one of her all time favorite books. To read and teach about.
“Yes! It is a painting of the eyes of Dr. TJ Eckleberg from The Great Gatsby, passing judgement over the class as Eckleberg’s did over The Valley of Ashes”, said Mrs. West.
If anyone is interested in painting another one for her room she would be open to anything, well almost everything.
“I love art and having interesting things in my room to look at, so I would be open to having another tile”, said Mrs. West. “I would like one to inspired by one of the poems we read during the poetry unit. I definitely do NOT have a desire for a Lord of the Flies inspired tile.”
