Cheese Won’t Kill You but my Article Will

January 23, 2023

Cheese seems to be a food every American is not able to get enough of. The perfect snack or topping to any meal. It is so awesome that you probably are thinking that it just has to be bad for you, right?

Surprisingly, no! Cheese has been recently discovered to be not as unhealthy as you may think it is. Studies on “wired.com”  have shown that on average, eating more or less of it has essentially no effect on your weight or overall well-being. It is a neutral food so it doesn’t have toxic effects on your body.

People love their cheese, and should be able to keep loving it without any guilt.

“I’ve enjoyed cheese for as long as I can remember. It has always been a part of my life,” said senior Megan Vasas.

Vasas claimed she started her love for cheese at a very young age, she started off with eating the basic cheese’s such as cheddar and colby jack. As she got older ventured into a larger variety of cheese.

Cheese is the perfect thing to enhance your meal. If you ever feel like maybe something is missing, cheese is always the solution and it will never disappoint you.

Tech Ed teacher Mr. Hoffman said “ Cheesy fries, nachos and quesadillas never let me down.”

Hoffman thinks it is impossible to have too much cheesy food. “Except when I eat my Mexican food, sometimes I go a little overboard,” he said.

As much as most people love cheese, we still have to take into consideration those who aren’t lucky enough to partake in this magnificent food. Those types of people would be lactose intolerant.

Junior Macrina Robb just so happens to be one of them. Robb said, “ When I was a baby I had a very bad allergic reaction and was taken to the hospital. Ever since then I haven’t had cheese.”

For most of us this would be a nightmare scenario.

“I grew up without eating it so I don’t know what life would be like with eating cheese.” said Robb.

But lucky enough for people who are lactose intolerant, there are healthy alternatives such as cheese made from almonds or cashews.

You truly can’t go wrong with a big old slice of cheese. So keep on enjoying that cheesy goodness, and don’t stop for no one!

“It ain’t easy being so cheesy.” -Mr Hoffman.
