Name: Grace Venatta

Grade: 11

How long have you been a dancer?

This is my 14th year dancing.

Why did you start dancing?

I have three older girl cousins who danced and they encouraged my mom to enroll my sister and me in classes when we were little.

Who is your biggest inspiration in dance?

My biggest inspiration in dance is probably any teacher I have ever had or any student I have danced with. I know that sounds odd but I learn best by “competing” (for lack of a better word) with other dancers. They all push me to constantly be better. Without them, I never would have accomplished half of the things I have.

What is your favorite thing about dance?

My favorite thing about dance is getting to tell different stories and play different characters on stage. I also love getting to perform with my team at competitions. I love being a part of something where everyone loves and is proud of what they’re doing.

How will dance play a role in the rest of your life?

I will for sure be dancing throughout my life. It’s too special a gift to give up after high school. I hope to dance throughout college and eventually own my own dance studio.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

Dance is very important to many people, and I am so happy it’s something I get to do.

Hey, my name is Grace Poeppel. I'm 18 and a senior this year. I love coffee, photography, and country music. I've been a dancer since I was 3 years old. I'm also a Knochette in the marching band, I'm one of the team captains this year. If you want to find me, I'm probably dancing.
