Holiday Traditions

February 6, 2017

Those few weeks between Thanksgiving and New Years Eve can really pass by in one big blur. What makes the holiday season special is the time spent with your friends and family creating new memories. Christmas is more than just opening a pile of well wrapped presents under the tree. To me, Christmas is about spending time with my family, and upholding our traditions. For the weeks leading up to Christmas, I spend a lot of my time at my grandparents’ house making a million different types of cookies and preparing the Seven Fish, an Italian tradition my grandfather has been doing his whole life. The tradition of the Seven fish was very important to my great grandmother, which makes it very special to me.  The holiday season wouldn’t be the same if we didn’t carry out the traditions that have been in our family for years.
