Tattoos

Meaningful Ink

Some students here at Knoch have tattoos—some hidden and some not.  Brynnae Coe, Nathan Uzmack, Olivia Culleiton, and Mrs. Sandorf have each currently have one tattoo, and although minute in quantity, they are not minute in significance.

What is your tattoo?

It is my parents birth dates and then mine.

What does this tattoo mean to you?

I chose to get this tattoo because my family is super important to me and I figured the “family tree” style would be best to exemplify that.

How many tattoos do you have?

Only one.

Do you have plans to get more?

I may get more in the future…but only ones that mean something to me.

Where did you get your tattoo done?

What is your tattoo?

A mountain range in Sedona, AZ.

What does this tattoo mean to you?

It’s a place I’ve been visiting pretty much every other year for the better part of 10 years. I love hiking and anything outdoors, and Sedona is where that love for nature started.

How many tattoos do you have?

One.

Do you have plans to get more?

Absolutely.

Where did you get your tattoo done?

Empire Tattoo in Pittsburgh.

Is there anything else that you would like to add?

If you’re thinking about getting one, go for it. Just be smart about what it is and where it’s going, and it doesn’t hurt as bad as people say it does.

What is your tattoo?

It is two coffee cups filled with hot coffee, as the steam rises it creates a Celtic Knot.

What does this tattoo mean to you?

My mom and I got the same one. This is special to us because it is in memory of my grandma who passed away in December of 2019. She was an amazing woman who exudes confidence, intelligence, and enjoying life to the fullest. One thing the three of us shared was our love for coffee and conversation on her screened in porch in Florida and our pride for our Irish heritage.  My mom and grandma went to Ireland twice together, and while I was not able to go with her during her lifetime, I know when I do travel there, she will be with me. Anytime we saw cute little irish themed trinkets, we would buy them for each other and it was our special way of staying connected although she lived far away. When she passed, it crushed me, and I knew I wanted to do something to commemorate our special bond and find a way to feel as though she is with me every day.

How many tattoos do you have?

Just the one.

Do you have plans to get more?

Probably, once my kids are older, I would like to get something that represents something special to them.

Where did you get your tattoo done?

Toiled Clover in Gibsonia.
