Reading: the wonderful hobby that you were raised to hate by “classic” novels in middle school discovering literature and AR books. It’s not unreasonable to guess that most teenagers don’t enjoy reading, I even bet that you, reading this right now, don’t like to read. But once you get away from books written in the 1600s and communism among animals, you’ll find that maybe reading isn’t so bad.
In January alone, I read six books. That’s probably more than what I’ve chosen to read in the past 6 YEARS. I also proceeded to spend $70 on Tahereh Mafi’s Shatter Me series after reading the first book. Very excited about that.
For Christmas and my birthday I asked for a few books to get me started on my little reading journey, but didn’t read any of their descriptions because I didn’t want any spoilers, obviously. Unfortunately I accidentally conned my mother into buying a book that neither of us had any interest in reading! I’m not going to elaborate on that, but I think you can imagine what kind of stuff it had in it. Despite my mistake I still don’t read the back of books in fear of spoilers, but I haven’t had any issues (or spoilers) since, so I’ll take my chances I suppose.
