Dear Knoch High School,
It’s finally time to sign off and start a new chapter. I have learned a lot during my school career. But unlike most people, if I could return and do my whole schooling again, I would… I didn’t have the best time from 1st through 7th. It did get better, but I still felt behind when I came to this school. As some of you might know, I came to this school ¾ into 7th grade, and let me tell you how behind I was. From kindergarten through sixth grade, I didn’t learn much since the school was a charter school called Propel Braddock Hills, and they taught three grades behind. I didn’t even know grades existed, so I struggled when transferring here. I almost failed the seventh grade. But now I’m here senior year doing great.
The first good memory I made here was in my freshman year in Ms. T’s yearbook class. It was the end of the school year and Ms.T had everyone sit around the pushed-together desks and had everyone write at least one letter to someone in the class. While everyone was writing their letters, I was just sitting there like normal because it was my study hall and it was what I normally do because I wanted to do a yearbook the next year. When everyone was done, they passed out their letters to each other. We all sat there listening to everyone talk about the letters because most were very funny, and I was so surprised when I got one. Riley Huff wrote me a letter saying she was excited to be on the yearbook staff next year. No one would understand how happy I was to have someone notice and consider my feelings. This was my first happy memory here at this school. Most of my good and happy memories took place in Ms. T’s room, one of the best places in the whole school.
Moving on to sophomore year my best memory was when I was actually on the yearbook staff and getting to work with them. I thought all of them were so talented and funny; they were some of the greatest people I have ever met. Another great memory from that year was eating lunch with some of the girls before class started because yearbook lunchtime was before the class, but I liked getting to hear all the drama they all had going on. It was the highlight of my day.
As I moved on to junior year, it was my worst year as a total. My classes were hard, and my job was hard, but some moments were better than others., like having Ale with us and getting to do things that made her time at Knoch memorable.
Now it’s senior year and it definitely got better but I do have to say I’m happy to leave and just have this chapter of my life over and done with because there is so much more out there to look forward to in the coming year, so I wish each and every one of you well in your coming years.
Vhugs’ signing off!
