The book A Walk to Remember, by Nicholas Sparks is truly unforgettable. This captivating read reveals an immense hidden secret that tears at the heartstrings and tests the limits of true love overcoming all odds.

It is the story of an older man Landon Carter remembering back to the summer when he was seventeen when he met the love of his life Jamie Sullivan. Little did he know starting to hang out with her would change his life forever.

Jamie and Landon are completely opposite at least at first anyway. Jamie is the daughter of the pastor of a Baptist church so she takes her faith very seriously. She takes her Bible with her everywhere and is always reading it which is why most of her peers considered her to be strange. Nobody knew the real reason she took her Bible with her everywhere though. Jamie is generous, kind, and somewhat keeps to herself.  She is well respected among the adults. However, Landon on the other hand was always getting into trouble and making fun of kids like Jamie.

Landon and Jamie had to do a school play where they had to rehearse together on a consistent basis. Plus Landon needed a date to homecoming and Jamie was the only one left that he could ask. After homecoming and everything they started to get to know each other and even started hanging out. Landon’s friends kept teasing him and saying that he was in love with her. He obviously denied it though. However, during the school play when Landon first looked at her when she had come on stage he started to fall in love with her.

Eventually they started hanging out more and then they started dating. Landon even helped her out with the orphanage she volunteered at. Everything was going great until Jamie told Landon some tragic news about herself. However, he still loved her and did everything he could to help her. It is certainly an emotional rollercoaster throughout the entire book. Although, dating Jamie was really good for Landon. He started reading the Bible more and became more generous.

Now I could go on and on about this book but I don’t want to completely spoil it for you so that’s all I’m going to tell you about this intriguing story. If you enjoy inspirational stories then I would highly recommend you give this book a try. Personally, I would rate this book a 10/10.
