New school bathrooms! New parking! New sports divisions! But have you noticed just how many new staff members we have at Knoch?
Mrs. Negley speaks for us all when she says, “Meeting new people that are equipped to do something they are trained to do brings new enthusiasm and ideas to an experienced staff. That is always a welcoming environment to all.”
While there have been so many new and surprising changes lately, it’s been easy to overlook the latest staff additions coming into the building. From new guidance, to a new home economics teacher, to unforgettable math professors, all areas of Knoch are expanding and changing in their teaching.
Some, such as special education teacher Mrs. Bartlett already have Knoch experience under their belt.
“I have a lot in common with the students here because I also went to Knoch High School and graduated from here (in 2008). I’ve had some of the same teachers they have, so it gives me a unique perspective when interacting with them.”
Prior to arriving at Knoch, Bartlett taught at three different schools. She has gained a wide variety of experience from 3rd to 12th grade in both Georgia and Louisiana. Through all her experience, Bartlett noted that Knoch is “different from other schools due to everyone’s deep ties and passion for their community.”
With two young kids and a knack for reading, she is sure to bring “inclusivity, kindness, and compassion” to Knoch and the student body.
The new Family and Consumer Science teacher, Mrs. Miloser has a similar impression of Knoch.
Miloser pointed out that she found a “more close-knit atmosphere here compared to larger schools that I have worked with in the past.”
We must be doing something right.
Miloser had a fairy tale experience during her high school experience at Shaler. Everyone is always looking for their one and only, and this high school teacher just happened to meet hers her junior year.
She believes, “You can meet your other half anywhere at any moment, even at the grocery store. 🙂 “
Miloser also decided to give an authentic tea experience at the Tearoom on Main, WHERE I WORK (shameless tearoom plug)!!!
Geometry teacher, Mrs. Negley is one of the teachers who has been here the longest. She explained that, as she has seen many teachers come and go from Knoch, the process is typically quick.
She stated, “As soon as the school board approves the new hires, it is public knowledge, although sometimes we hear it “through the grapevine” before it gets out.”
I have heard “through the grapevine” that all the new staff here are pretty cool, so don’t be afraid to say hello and carry on the welcoming environment we have here at Knoch!!
