When I was in ninth grade I moved to Knoch. It was hard switching schools again, but everyone here was so welcoming. Even though nobody knew me, they still talked to me and tried to make me feel comfortable. If you have ever moved schools before, you understand the struggles.
Unfortunately, I am going to be moving again this year to Shenango. Especially since it is the middle of the school year and I am already a junior in high school, switching schools is going to be a little more difficult this time. However, the school counselors are being really helpful and understanding with me throughout this whole process.
Moving so soon is definitely hard because I only have two weeks left to pack and transfer my schools. However, I have friends and family that are helping with the transition and the guidance counselors at both this school and my new school have helped make this process easier.
I really appreciate how kind and helpful everyone has been. I would personally like to thank a few students and staff members that have helped me and welcomed me since I have attended Knoch.
First of all, I would like to thank Physical Education teacher Ms. Taylor. When I first moved here she was very kind to me and helped me adjust to this new school. She has always been there to listen if I needed to talk and she was very understanding of my situation.
Next, I would like to thank the guidance Counselor Ms. Graham. She made my transition a lot easier when I moved here. Now that I am moving again, she has been very understanding and is helping me figure out what my best options would be.
I would also like to thank Junior Raegan Smith. I didn’t really start talking to her until this year because I typically keep to myself. However, one day she came up to me and mentioned that we had a few classes together, and we just started talking. She has been so kind to me.
Also, I wanted to thank Newspaper and Yearbook teacher Ms. Thompson for helping me open up more and help me to improve my writing. I have had her as a teacher since last year and she has always encouraged me to be more social and to open up a little. She has been so nice to me and is definitely one of my favorite teachers.
I would like to thank Junior Izabella Spencer. She was the first person that talked to me and understood what I was going through. She really made me feel welcome and helped me adjust.
Lastly, I would just like to say that I appreciate everything all of the teachers I have had, have done to help me. All my teachers have truly been so nice. So, thank you to all of my past and present teachers for everything.
I could go on and on about my time here, but instead I am just going to say that my experiences at Knoch have helped to shape me as a person and I am forever grateful for that.
If anyone else would have to move during high school, some advice I would give to them would be to make sure that you are communicating with both schools throughout the whole process.
Of course, I am sad and nervous about moving again, but I am also excited because it feels like the start of a new chapter in my life. Attending Knoch has been a wonderful experience and I am sad to leave, but I know that I will be able to handle whatever comes next because of the experiences I have had here that helped to prepare me for whatever comes next.
