Secret Santa is a blessing and a curse to many. It is a blessing that they get gifts and can feel the holiday love from friends, but a curse that sometimes you will get a pack of socks. Throughout the friend groups at Knoch, some really do love sharing the holiday joy.
Senior Carissa Tekely’s friend group has joined the fun of Secret Santa this year.
For their first year, all were ready to share their love.
“Danielle Golden goes above and beyond, gift giving is her love language, I swear.” said Tekely.
Now as much as we all love getting gifts, and even giving them, budgeting always seems to make a hole in our heart..and our pockets.
Whether you love going on a shopping spree, or your wallet runs away from you everytime it even feels you ready to take your card out, budgets always seem to be a difficult thing to agree on between friends.
“Our budget was $35, but I think we all went over,” she said
Sometimes we all love to give a little more to the people we love!
Even more frequently, people love giving meaningful gifts.
“This year I got a book called ‘Lessons in Chemistry.’ I’m majoring in chemistry and love to read, so my friend got it for me!” siad Tekely
Now secret santa doesn’t just exist in the friend groups at Knoch, our very own staff joins in the fun!
This holiday tradition has been going on for more than 25 years between the female staff.
Our very own secretary Mrs. Singer has been an active member in the gift giving tradition!
“Thank you cards and paper products for Christmas are good secret santa gifts.” said Singer.
The Knoch staff keeps the budget at a pretty reasonable price, at $10 dollars a person.
Now of course in every group there are the slackers, and for the staff it changes every year.
Wish we could say the same for our friends…
“Chocolate is always good.”
Wise words from Mrs. Singer
Whether your secret santa is your best friend or maybe even your mom, (could all be the same to some people) the feeling of giving gifts and receiving them makes everyone love Christmas a little more!
