Many students have been counting down the days until graduation. However, these seniors will have a surprise coming soon that nobody could expect.
“It’s crazy to think that such a prominent icon with such history in this area would come back to see us,” said junior Tobias Webb.
Knoch High School has seen its fair share of crazy ordeals. From gas leaks to suing the governor, we’ve gleaned enough attention to earn our very own commencement speaker.
“We have been orchestrating this behind the scenes for quite some time,” said Principal Trofimuk. “I’m retiring after this year, so I wanted to end things on a high note.”
To commemorate the new building along with the new track, the administration paid a handsome sum of $250,000 for a celebrity guest speaker. Though, this will cut into the funding for the end of construction, leaving out the new parking lot.
“This is going to be the greatest thing I have ever witnessed,” said freshman Michael Wippenbeck.
Preparations are underway for a stage to be set up at commencement; it will follow federal safety guidelines, and attendees will need to pay a fee to listen to the speech.
“Maintaining an extraordinary degree of safety for students, staff, and everyone else in attendance at a graduation ceremony is absolutely essential. It’s one of the most important days in a teenager’s life, and doing our part will make it run smoothly,” said Mr. Sarnese, who heads Knoch’s school police force.
President Donald J. Trump was in Butler in July, as everyone knows. The Knight Times was lucky enough to sit down the commander-in-chief for an interview.
“This is going to be the greatest event in the history of Knoch High School. Maybe, even, the greatest event in the history of America,” said President Trump.
The speech will be held before students walk for graduation. President Trump will be accompanied by Vice President J.D. Vance as well as DOGE leader Elon Musk.
“To inspire academic achievement, the valedictorian as well as the salutatorian will receive a Tesla Model 3,” said Musk.
The news was just given to the student body this morning, stirring a feeling of excitement throughout the new halls of the high school.
“I need to get my grades up now,” said senior Angelo Natili.
There will be signups soon for boosters to sell Trump merchandise out of the concession stand. Parents that sign up will be treated to free shirts and hats reading “Keep Saxonburg Great!”
“I can’t wait to get in there and sling some shirts,” said parent Jared Wallace.
Allegedly, there has been talk of an announcement being made by the Trump administration about purchasing a business in the area. The Hotel Saxonburg closed a few weeks ago, so some citizens are speculating that there is a connection between the announcement and closure.
“It would make sense,” said Saxonburg native Samantha Leinen, adding, “Everyone in Saxonburg would love to see a Trump inspired feature on Main Street.”
A myriad of news channels, including but not limited to KDKA and Fox News, will be sure to cover the event.
“It will be nice to finally see our school be represented on a big scale. Knoch is going to be on the map soon, and this time, it’s for a good reason,” said senior Kevin Justi.
So, look forward to seeing a grand-scale event featuring the President of the United States at Knoch’s commencement ceremony on May 28, 2025!
“I hope President Trump makes a mark on our little town,” said junior Darien Gallagher.
