You may have seen various plane crashes in the news in the last couple of months, during which numerous lives were lost. No one wants loss in their community or to face the horrible pain that the victims’ families are going through.
President Trump called out the air traffic control agents who were supposed to be protecting the people on those flights and laid off thousands of them. That said, he has a plan to bring back great minds to aviation.
According to Executive Order 14241, three students from each public and private high school in the country who received the highest median scores on their SAT, various AP tests, ASVAB, or ACT will now be drafted to join the Air Traffic Control Agency. Now, an IQ test will also be required to graduate, which will be considered for the draft.
Junior Tayden Harrold has some thoughts about the tests. “I think that I won’t pass the IQ test because the stress is overwhelming my brain,” he said.
Well, hopefully we don’t need a specific score to graduate and just have to take it. If we do need to meet a specific score, a lot of students would be in big trouble.
I don’t know about you, but I’m looking forward to this. My academic rivals will finally be out of the way, and there will be more spots at the top schools! What are people going to do, NOT try on their tests? I doubt it.
You may be thinking to yourself, is this going to apply to women, since the war draft is exclusive to men? YES! When women and men alike turn 18, they will be required by law to register for the Air Control Draft, but they pre-subscribe when registering for tests no matter what age they are, then they will be automatically placed at a traffic control agency training when they turn 18.
There are going to be two training camps built, one on each side of the Mississippi River. The training will be two weeks long, and students will get their placement another two weeks after graduating.
With this being said, there has been some speculation as to if Air Traffic Control will become another branch of the military. Only time will tell, but the president did indeed allude to the fact.
“Our Military is so strong it’s the strongest. It’s the best. We are always looking to make our great military greater as always, so we may be seeing some BIG, HUGE, HUMONGOUS, changes to the forces,” he said.
Wow! Exciting! I hope that we find out more information soon.
I am looking forward to the peace in our airspace, so I’m hoping this new system isn’t all for nothing. Score high students!
