Brecken Farrell

Most people are at least somewhat aware of Brecken Farrell’s talents in theatre. You may have even been able to catch his performance as Billy Lawlor in the school musical last spring, but his talents branch out way further than just Knoch High School.

 

Q: What creative or artistic activities do you participate in?

A: “Chorus, musical, private voice, community theater, Pittsburgh Musical Theater and commercials.

 

Q: How did you get involved in theatre?

A: “I started with community theater at the age of six. I loved it and continued from there.”

 

Q: What’s your favorite part about it?

A: “Friendships and the professional actors that inspire/encourage me.”

 

Q: How much time and practice does it take to do what you do?

A: “I train three days a week, and when I’m in a show I’m at rehearsal everyday.”

 

Q: What are some of the parts you’ve played?

A: “Jekyll/Hyde (Jekyll and Hyde), Mark (Rent), Gaston (Beauty and the Beast), Billy Lawlor (42nd Street), Bobby Strong (Urinetown), and Berger (Hair).”

 

Q: Where do you perform?

A: “School, Byham Theater, Hazlett Theater, Gargaro Theater and Succop Theater.”

 

Q: What has been your most proud or successful moment?

A: “Playing Jekyll and Hyde in Jekyll and Hyde. The role was the most challenging because of the vocally demanding nature and the split personality.”

 

Q: Do you want to continue performing after high school? Do you think you could make a career out of it someday?

A: “I always want to perform – it’s my true passion. I’m still undecided if I will pursue it as a career.”
