A Gal And Her Soup- A Review

Watup? I’m Mackenzie, I’m 17, and I’m a soup advocate.

My dream is to one day become a food critic. Getting paid to eat food AND give my opinion??? Sign me up! Especially if I can finally have an excuse to constantly eat my favorite foods.

But, like most jobs, I need training to become an expert. So, I decided to start

my reviewing career by eating a lot of soup, and then talking about it like a professional.

Oh! And if your dream is to become a food critic critic, feel free to critique my work. I could really use some constructive criticism.

Broccoli Cheddar:

Place- Panera

Price- $6.25

Wait- 6 minutes

When I ordered this soup, I got it to-go, because I wasn’t in the eat-soup-alone-in-the-corner-of-panera mood. I was skeptical that because I drove it home, the soup would be cold, and I would have to reheat it, causing it’s value to decrease. I was proven wrong, though, and my soup was still warm when I got home. This soup also had a lot of broccoli, which I enjoyed, because I love broccoli! The worst part of this soup was that it wasn’t thick. Because of this, I would rate it 7/10.

Red and White Chili:

Place- Homemade

Price- free (for me)

Wait- 15 minutes

To be honest, I don’t like chili. I’m not a big meat eater. With that in mind, I kinda enjoyed this chili, especially the white chicken chili. Sure, it felt like I was basically eating a bowl of unseasoned chicken/beef, but the beans were worth it. I’m a smushy food fan- I love lima beans, mashed potatoes, blueberries, excetra- so, for me, the beans brought this dish from a 3/10 to a 6/10.

Wedding Soup:

Place- Villa Grande

Price- came with meal

Wait- 2 minutes

Out of all the soups in the world, wedding soup is tied with vegetable soup for first place. I love all the elements of wedding soup, the only downfall is that most times, there are too many meatballs. That was the case this time.  Also, there wasn’t freshly shredded cheese added to the top of my soup. That was annoying. I’d give this soup a 7/10.

Chicken Noodle Soup:

Place- Homemade

Price- free (for me)

Wait- no wait

I’m gonna be honest with y’all, my mom made this soup from a box. Like she poured the contents of a packet into boiling water and served it to us. It was alright- nothing too special, but it didn’t have any big flaws. It kinda tasted like plain chicken stock, but I can’t complain. I mean, what else can you expect? No one eats chicken noodle soup because they want a flavorful soup. But soup is soup, amirite ladies? 8/10
