Everyone has some genre of music they like, whether it’s Nickelback or drill rap. But, lucky for us, there are plenty of amazing artists coming to the greater Pittsburgh area this summer.
“I am so excited. I get to see Hozier this summer,” said freshman Charlie Hoffman.
Hozier is “basically Jesus,” in the words of Sophomore Grace Mayhugh.
He looks like the Western interpretation of him, too. With his long brown hair and scruffy beard, it’s a pretty popular comparison.
Hozier is a Rock/Folk singer, and his new song “Too Sweet” is seemingly stuck in everyones heads. Many students might know him for his popular, yet older song; “Take me to Church.”
Hozier is making a stop in Burgettstown, at The Pavilion at Star Lake, July 29th.
Unfortunately, everyone loves Hozier and bought all the dang tickets. If you’re lucky, you might be able to see some resellers on sketchy websites, though!
Hozier isn’t the only long-haired brunette making a stop near us. Many people have been infactuated by the beacon that is Noah Kahan as of recently.
Noah Kahan took the world by storm in 2022, after his release of “Stick Season.”
Since his release of his viral song, Kahan has released a full album by the name of Stick Season, and is starting a tour soon.
Mayhugh also has tickets for Kahan’s concert on May 29th, 8:00 PM at the same location as Hozier (The Pavilion at Star Lake.)
If you havent already gotten your hands on some tickets, I have some bad news. They are ALL GONE. and even when they were available, it would cost you about $120 for the cheapest seating. But, I’m sure you can grab some off poachers for about $500!
It’s Festival Season! At Stage AE, May 31st-June 2nd, you can witness Pride on the Shore.
Chappell Roan, a extremly new artist in the spotlight, will be on the setlist for Pride on the Shore. Chappell has several new songs that people in the LGBTQ+ community are raving about.
These songs include “Red Wine Supernova,” “HOT TO GO!,” “Good Luck Babe!,” and “Casual.”
“HOT TO GO!” has a fun dance to go along with it, similar to the YMCA.
Once again, Mayhugh will be in attendance. She is a huge fan of Chappell, and thinks she is most excited to see her at the festival.
There are going to be several other incredibly talented artists on the set list, so dont overlook them either!
You can expect to see Jess Glyne, SLAYYYTER, KeKe Palmer, Natasha Bedingfield, and much more at the event presented by Nick Staples.
There are no tickets available for this Festival anymore, but you can expect to see it flooding your social media feed.
If theater is more your scene, there are more than enough things that could catch your interest.
The Pittsburgh Ballet will be in the Benedum from May 17th-May 19th, right before West Side Story makes an appearance from June 11th-June 16th.
This is only a fraction of the entertainment life the greater Pittsburgh area is blessed with this summer. Make sure to do some of your own research to see if anything strikes your fancy; There’s plenty of talented singers, actors, musicians and more waiting to see you!
