OG Fortnite is BACK again, and is here to stay for a while. Many students have a strong opinion on this topic because they used to love this game and like that it came back. Some people have suggestions and recommendations, and some people like the new characters they have added this season. 

”It’s good,” said sophomore Dalton Moser, “I like it because I like Ice Spice” 

Ah yes, Ice Spice …. the popular singer/rapper that emerged about two years ago for doing a not very school appropriate dance, is now a part of a game that millions of children love to play.

Whatever, it’s just one part of the game, right?

Well, other than Ice Spice, Epic Games, the creator of Fortnite, also added two other characters based on celebrities, Snoop Dogg and Juice WRLD. They also brought back Eminem from last year.

Many people believe that this game feels nothing like the beloved game from 2020, and senior Kevin Justi would agree.

“It does not feel like the original with Snoop Dogg,” he said. 

Another reason the game doesn’t feel the same is because of the amount of people who try so hard at the game;  it annoys people who just want to play for fun.

This has caused a lot of people to play different game modes to try and keep having fun.

“I like to play Reboot,” said Justi. “It’s quick action, fun, and I don’t get cooked by four year olds.”

Other than having beef with people who weren’t even born when the game came out, there are other reasons to try different things.

Moser likes Fortnite Festival, the RockBand-like game mode that was released last December right after the first OG Fortnite went away.  Moser “loves Lady Gaga” and pretends he is in a music video. 

Don’t play too much Juice WRLD around him though, he will leave the game and your party.

So. all is not bad in the Fortnite world right now, as people are still having lots of fun playing this game that they have played sincere elementary school.

But, some have suggestions as to what could be changed to make the game better.

Moser said, “It will get better if they get rid of the movement.”

The movement was another thing that they added about a year ago after OG went away. It is a placebo effect that makes you look like your moving slower but it is actually no different from the original other than looking different. Many players think they should just go back to the way it was.

“Epic should ban four year old sweats,” added Justi. 

While I agree with both of them, I do not think Epic will do that as they just introduced the movement, and they quite literally can’t stop actual toddlers from playing their game just because we got too old.

One thing that they could do, however, is bring back OG Fortnite back full time. But wait. .  . that is already happening!

Moser and Justi were absolutely flabbergasted by this news and went out of their minds.

“I was very excited,”said Justi.“I’m going to cry, best news this year.

Although the remixed Fortnite is not exactly what people wanted, it still brought people together and lots of happiness

 I think Justi said it best and spoke for many gamers when he said, “It reminded me of my prime.”
