For many people musical is the best time of the year but when it’s over the rest of the year is miserable. Musical is a chance to hang out with your friends and even meet more people. For those who don’t know this year’s musical was Oklahoma.

“The best part of musical is seeing how your hard work has paid off like when they open the curtains and you can feel the energy of the crowd who wants a great show.” Said Junior Dori Shearer. “ When the curtain goes down after you take your final bow and the crowd goes crazy – they are very special experiences that I think only get when you perform on a stage.”

Many people are so involved with musical whether it be dance troupe, a lead role, or even a minor role. During the months of hard work that is put into musical, many said that you become like one big family.

As you can tell in all the pictures on the previous page, everyone is extremely happy, they aren’t just smiling because they’re performing an have to smile but they’re actually excited to be performing and involved in such an amazing production.

Everyone has worked extremely hard on this production. Dance troupe was high kicking and heel clicking their way through it, while looking graceful as. Libby Casey as senior dance troupe captain got a solo in “Dream Ballet” and did an amazing job, but not all things are as happy as they seem, it goes from happiness to heartbreak. All the roles were amazing and extremely talented at whatever their role may be  Musical is something everyone should experience, whether you are part of the cast or just go to watch it is an  awesome experience you don’t want to miss!

Q: Who was your character/ role in the musical and what your favorite part about it?

A: My character was Aunt Eller Murphy and I liked how versatile she was.  She was crazy and funny but was also motherly and empathetic, so it was really fun to work on both sides of her.

Q: What was your best experience at musical?

A: My best experience this year at musical was getting close to a lot of people.  We were really one big family by the end of the show and it was really special.  Every practice we could find something to laugh about even if we were exhausted.

Q:What are some of the things that go on behind the scenes that people didn’t know about?

A: We have lots of inside jokes and certain traditions that we uphold like dancing all together before each show and cutting up a plastic dinosaur and eating a bunch of pixie sticks to get us hyped.

Q:You was the funniest character in the musical?

A:I am obviously biased, but I think my character was the funniest because you never knew what she was going to say or do next.  Besides my character though, I would say Ali Hakim was the funniest because of how hard he tried to get rid of Ado Annie.

somebody down) would probably be the lull that everyone goes into after the final show; it is kind off bittersweet because you want it to go on forever, but you know that no good thing can and that you will always have those memories.

Q: What was your favorite part of the musical? Favorite scene?

A: One of my favorite parts of the musical was when I got to scare everybody at the dance when I fired off the gun.
