Yoga & Yogurt

Yogurt,

yoghurt, or yoghourt, however you spell it, you know what I mean, and I know you pronounced all those words differently. For simplicity sake, I’ll just call it yogurt. It is a food produced by bacterial fermentation of milk. Doesn’t sound appetizing? Here, look at the beautiful picture.

Alright, onto the benefits:

  1. Most brands of yogurt contain good-for-you bacteria.
  2. Yogurt is loaded with vitamins.
  3. Yogurt is a high-protein food.
  4. FROYO

(Though it isn’t technically a health benefit, it’s absolutely delicious.)

Yoga,

typically associated with females and organic juices but hey, I’m not complaining. I love yoga, I’m a woman, and I LIVE for organic stuff, because it’s just so intriguing!

While there are more than 100 different types, or schools, of yoga, most sessions are typically include breathing exercises, meditation, and assuming postures (sometimes called asana or poses) that stretch and flex various muscle groups.

Physical benefits of yoga:

  • Increased flexibility
  • Increased muscle strength and tone
  • Maintaining a balanced metabolism
  • Cardio and circulatory health
  • Improved athletic performance
  • Protection from injury
  • Increases blood flow
  • Drops your blood pressure
  • Makes you happier!

Honestly, a lot of the time I think about doing yoga but then I think “No, I need to work hard so I can burn calories/build muscle” etc., but, in all realness, yoga is so crucial to basic moves and exercises. Another fact is that your body needs rest, so even if you want to work out but are feeling kind of lethargic, try yoga, your body and mind will thank you.
