Tips and Tricks for Great Pics: Rule of Thirds
The rule of thirds is one of the most commonly used technique in photography. For this I want you to imagine that you have taken your image and divided into ninths. the lines will help you to put your subject in the right focal point. The intersections of the lines become an important point to try and focus on. So rather that having your subject in the center of the image, it would be offset. These intersections are point of focus and make the photo more appealing to the eye. ‘Thirds’ comes into play with the idea of filling the screen with two thirds background and one third of your subject.
About the Contributor
Jocelyn Adley, Staff Writer
Hey there! My name's Jocelyn if you didn't know. Since you'll be reading a few of my articles, why don't I tell you a little about myself. I'm a senior this year and I'm still probably one of the least known people in the school, even though it's my 6th year here. I may not play for a team anymore but you will likely find me spending my time playing hockey, playing the violin, reading, writing, or brushing up on my photography skills. So now that you know a little about me, give me a shout some time.
