For around 150 years, Halloween has been the holiday where everyone dresses up and goes from house to house Trick or Treating. It’s the one day out of the year you’re allowed to take candy from a stranger.
“I will never miss out on free candy and a chance to get dressed up,” said senior Lindsey Wise.
But it seems like other people are still deciding if they want to go Trick or Treating like Junior Carter Robinson.
“Yes I’m going, if not, then I’ll just walk around with my friends.”
Unlike Robinson, Lilah Rock, a freshman, has already created herself a tradition that she won’t fray from.
“I’m going to my friend’s house to Trick or Treat like I normally do,” said Rock
But what are some other traditions people do on Halloween? Robinson likes to “scare people” and Wise prefers going to haunted houses. Sophomore Jimmy Davis can’t wait to go to all the upcoming Halloween parties.
“My auntie throws a Halloween party every year,” he said.
Davis and I and I’m sure many other students here have that in common. What are aunts for if not Halloween and decorating?
For instance, my aunt starts decorating around the end of September. Although it’s an unpopular opinion, Wise agrees.
She says, “As soon as fall starts.”
I respect that.
Our houses and yards aren’t the only thing we decorate however. We still have ourselves to embellish. Some keep it simple.
“I’ll probably just wear all black with a shiesty,” said Davis.
While there are others still deciding like Rock, “I’m not sure yet my friends and I haven’t decided.”
Or Robinson, “I don’t have a plan right now.”
But of course, someone as excited as Wise must go all out.
“For school/senior dress-up day I am being one of the step-brothers and for actual halloween I am being a vampire.”
I just know she’s gonna look great! Although it’s not her best costume.
“I think my best costume was Raven from Teen Titans,” a famous animated kids show with superheroes.
While she was being an intimidating hero, Davis was being equally intimidating.
“My little shark costume when I was 3 was the best, it was so funny.”
Though now I think about it, it was probably more cute since he was three instead of intimidating.
But what’s even cuter is Rock as a baby bee.

“My best costume was when I was a bumble bee.” Look at that face and tell me you wouldn’t give her all the flowers.
But, most say decorating should start between the beginning and middle of October.
All of these were pretty good costumes but I’ve gotta say the scariest one I’ve seen so far was when Robinson wore “My monkey suit, it was pretty funny.”
I was not laughing…
So before I end this, Wise has one last thing to say, “Halloween is my favorite holiday.” What about you?
