As Sabrina Carpenter once said in her song Goodbye “Well, sayonara, adiós. You’re not bilingual, but you should know: Goodbye!”
Although my run here on the Knight Times hasn’t been long I still had a great time. Throughout all my articles I have shared my unwanted opinions on movies, AI, and even fashion. All of which you should go checkout. However, the articles I have written are only a small part of my senior year and even a smaller part of my high school career. Believe it or not but this girl is more than just opinionated. Throughout high school I have had an interesting view point. Most kids during their four years in this square building are leading up to finding
I did as much as possible from Knochettes for five years, track for six, six clubs, and I even student directed 4 Knoch productions. Sorry, I had to flex real quick. But truthfully what filled my time the most was my school day. While suffering thg out what they want to do when they leave. However, for me I knew I wanted to be a teacher since sixth grade. So, luckily that wasn’t a problem for me. But, I had to figure out how to get there. Through math classes and reading books about rich men (loved Gatsby though not gonna lie) I craved my safe space in this school. The idea of sitting in the cafeteria during lunch… yuck, or actually studying in the study hall… no thank you. But, in all seriousness, finding a space that would feel like a home away from home was going to be a challenge.
That was until I found 516.In this room I found one of my greatest loves, photography. When I entered the class, I was 15 and taking the prerequisite needed for yearbook class. However, little did I know this place would become my home. As I’m sitting here in this every room surrounded by friends and my clutter that sits at my computer I can’t help to think I’m going to miss this place the most after I graduate. All of the stories shared, photos taken, and even a casual educational hotdog party here and there. But to be honest this room wouldn’t be so special if it wasn’t for the amazing teacher who had to see me way more than she should have too.
Ms. T deserves her flowers so let me rant about the amazing woman who quite literally got me through high school. Ms. Thompson not only was willing to listen to every single one of my problems, small or big, but she does that for everyone. She truly cares about her students which is more rare than you would think. She also is the one who pushed me to start my photography website while out with an injury. Because of her I know one day I want to be a journalism professor. Ms. T also is the perfect example of how to be a good teacher. She taught me how to care for students from a teacher’s point of view. How to teach kids to go for their passions. But most of all she taught me how to be a good person.
So yea, maybe I walked into high school to know where I would end up. But what I didn’t know was that I was going to find a space and a teacher that didn’t doubt my dreams. In fact, this place secured my love for education. So, Ms. Thompson, I promise to finally clean up my desk.
This is Ciarra signing out. Goodbye
