Snowboots vs. Swimsuits

Snowboots+vs.+Swimsuits

Have you ever found yourself so excited for a specific month to arrive? Maybe you enjoy the hot summer days in July or a cold day of skiing with friends in December! There are countless activities to look forward to but what about the months you may dread? Such as coming back after a long holiday break in January where students almost get frostbite on their walk into school. I know we may all have different opinions on our favorite and least favorite months but we can all agree that the weather in March is dreadful. Let’s hear what some of our students have to say.

I sent out a google form survey interviewing students about their favorite and least favorite month. By no surprise a WHOLE 24 students responded! Even though I may have forced my friends to respond, we still got TWENTY-FOUR responses!

Out of all the responses, their most voted for favorite month was…July! I’m sure all of us can agree on why we show so much love to this time of the year. The weather is phenomenal, we get to spend time with friends, and there’s no school responsibilities to worry about.

Junior Ally Bauer voted for July as her favorite month. When asked “why is that your favorite?” she enthusiastically responded with “SUMMER” and “BEACH.”

Another student, junior Jessica Burgard, agreed with Bauer saying she enjoys “swimming, going to the beach, and tanning” in July.

If anyone is looking for an awesome summer activity ask sophomore Lara Ejzak. Her favorite activity in July is “hot air ballooning.”

The next favorite voted month was June! Many students agree they enjoy the warm weather months more. Except for Senior Justin Walls.

Walls said his favorite month is January because he “likes the snow and snowboarding”.

When asked about students’ least favorite months many left sad responses.

Junior Carly Fraser said that January is, “cold and depressing.”

Many agreed that January is the worst month. With a whole EIGHT votes. January is voted the worst with February a close second.

Senior Nathenial Becker voted January as his least favorite claiming “It’s very cold and miserable.” I believe we can all agree on that. The first week of January is the only bearable part of the month because we are all excited about the new year until we get back from holiday break and realize how many assignments are due.

Another relatable response was from senior Mia Savannah who voted February her least favorite saying, “It’s the Tuesday of the Year. Awful.”

Enough talk about the cold months, let talk about some things students like to do during their favorite month.

Junior Ashley Walters likes to go on bike rides and swim during June.

Sophmore Hunter Leslie enjoys hunting season in October.

Senior Noor Jasmine chose October as his favorite month because he likes getting candy from strangers and it is his birth month.

Many students voted their favorite month as their birth month. Fraser chose July saying, “It’s my birthday.”

Freshman Emme Mrozek agrees, choosing May, “It is near the end of school and things are a lot of fun. It is also the month of my birthday.”

Let’s hear from some other students:

Junior Amber Ludolff’s favorite month is June. She chose this because “school gets out and it is nice outside.”

Junior Ashley Walters’s favorite month is June. She chose this because, “It’s warm but not unbearably hot, and the initial freedom of being out of school hits. Plus, it’s not so late in the summer that things get boring. It’s often the month before things get really busy for me in the summer.”

Freshman Richard Zolinas’s favorite month is November. He chose this month because, “the rut is heating up for deer.”
