Name: Grace Poeppel
Grade: 12

So, I know it’s strange, but for this blog, I did an interview with myself. Ms. T calls this our “get out of jail free” blog (the one where we focus on ourselves). I hope you enjoy!

How long have you been a dancer?

14 years

Why did you start dancing?

When I was a little kid, I was always dancing around the house. My parents just kind of knew I wanted to be a dancer. I also looked up to my older sister who was a dancer and I wanted to be like her.

Who is your biggest inspiration in dance?

My biggest inspiration in dance is my teacher Jennifer Vrabel (Miss Jen). She has taught me since I was in first or second grade and she’s always there for me whether it be in dance or my personal life. She played a huge role in making me the dancer I am today.

What is your favorite thing about dance?

My favorite thing about dance is the feeling of being set free. When I dance, I don’t think about anything else. Dancing allows me to tell a story without saying a word.

How will dance play a role in the rest of your life?

I plan on keeping dance as a part of the rest of my life. I would like to double major in dance and communication next year, and maybe eventually own my own dance studio.
