In 2025, so many iconic trends and phrases were coined. Camo, bows, “6, 7,” matcha, “brain rot,” Labubus, major AI accessibility (along with all that entails…), and so much more. I firmly believe that as a collective society, we can agree to leave most of these things behind in 2025. I think bows and camo are cute, but everything else from that list can go. With a new year comes an opportunity to change, eliminate, and improve aspects of society and ourselves. Let’s all take advantage of this chance to remove these things from accepted society and decide early what we should have more of in 2026. Listed below are my ins and outs for 2026, as well as some opinions of Knoch students.
Before we begin, please remember that these are just suggestions/opinions, and you don’t have to agree or listen to any of them. However, you should listen to me because I firmly believe that I am onto something with these.
Savanna’s Ins and Outs for 2026
Ins:
- Taking advantage of opportunities to learn
- Reading! (This will always be in for me.)
- Wearing whatever makes you happy
- Higher protein intake
- Mary Janes!! And leather shoes in general.
- Being kind (Even to people who probably don’t deserve it. This might sound obvious, but some people could use the reminder, including me.)
- Walking everywhere, all the time
- Whimsy outfits/shoes/hair
- Short/natural nails
- Societal shame in situations where it is 100% valid
- People who match my energy
- Making crafts/doing DIY things for fun
Outs:
- Brain rot. (Sorry, not sorry)
- Letting people walk all over me
- Spray tans (never gotten one, but I think we should embrace natural looks more)
- Cussing
- HeyDudes
- Talking behind your friends’ backs
- People who don’t match my energy
- Snapchat (I already don’t really use it, except to text some people, but I just think it’s so childish and a waste of time.)
- Using ChatGPT instead of doing your work (Even though I’ve never used it, it bothers me so bad that people can’t just do their work themselves.)
Senior Kamryn Burtner
Ins:
- Casual Instagram posts- Why is posting on Instagram so special and scary? Make it more casual and often in the big ‘26.
- Pinteresting/mood boards- This should’ve been in a long time ago. Way overdue. Gives you an aesthetic to strive for.
- Short nails/plain gel and polish- So chic, clean, and cute. Long nails can give dirty.
Outs:
- Fast fashion!- Shein is a huge no in 2026, sorry. Quality>Quantity!
- Snapchat- Because why is Snapchat so stressful? Snapscore, activity times, etc. Needs to go.
- Cheetah print- The prints are evolving, personally love tartan and tortoise shell.
New Year’s Resolutions: Read more and stay down to earth.
*These are just my opinions, and it doesn’t matter what people think or say about your style and what you do, because at the end of the day, it’s YOUR style and that is what makes it cool :)*

Sophomore Olivia Hawk
Ins:
- Matching sweat sets- They’re super comfy and cute
- Normalize being weird/yourself- It’s no fun to be judged for everything you do
- Funky clothing- It is so much better to wear things that are actually cute and show your personality
Outs:
- Judging someone for absolutely no reason- It’s not cool to think you’re better than someone when they didn’t do anything to you
- Long Ugg boots- They are just ugly
- Smoking- It’s not cool, and it is really just disgusting
New Year’s Resolution: To be kinder to everyone and have a better temper, because that is what I want to see in others.
