As all of you may know, Mr. Kamer allows some students to paint the stools we use everyday! All of these chairs are just splendid, but allow me to present the best and worst of them all.

First up on the chopping block is something I’d actually like to preserve. This chair features the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle squad in stunning detail. When I look at this stool it doesn’t give me a farty feeling, instead it sends me back to my childhood sitting on my grandma’s floor watching the aforementioned Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles OG animated series. From the pose of each radioactive sewer experiment, to the highlights of each blade this piece would be perfect if anything could actually be perfect. To whoever, a most definitely graduated student, this is truly a work of art that deserves more appreciation. (10000% ART, 0% FART)

This next stool I present to you isn’t nearly as impressive or detailed, instead kind of bland. I feel like Gordan Ramsey in Hell’s Kitchen before ending a dinner service when I see this. It’s just bland, lacks any flavor (detail), and just overall doesn’t live up to expectation. Although, I see the vision and isn’t far from the band logo that this is based off. I decided to go ahead and listen to a few songs, I don’t recommend it. It sounds like a dead-beat dad who finally decided to make something of himself after smoking a few hundred cigarettes each week for the past 30 years. After doing a little more digging the lead singer is Chris Pratt and it’s satirical, perchance. I’m still not really sure. Anyways, this is for sure not the best chair in the room but given what they had to work with, I’d say it actually isn’t that bad. (37.4% ART, 62.6% FART)

I may not know very much about anything to do with Star Wars, but I can tell this Chewbacca looks terrified. It’s almost like he’s sentient of the fact that we are going to sit on the stool, and he doesn’t want to be caught lacking. But that’s besides the point, although he is lacking a little detail. I don’t think he looks bad, it’s just not how I’d approach painting him. (78.9% ART, 21.1% FART)

I’ve saved the best for last, and man she is gorgeous. I couldn’t paint this if I could and I’m impressed with the glow around the creature and woman and the lighting and shadows are just so precise and perfect. I want to know where this person is at now, like what are they doing in life, I need to know. I need to be able to paint like this. There is so much attention to detail yet I feel like it does just enough without being overworked. I love this. (1,000,000,000% ART, -1,000,000,000 FART)
